Our Process

Every project begins with a conversation and ends with a piece built to fit your desires and your space.

Here’s how we get there, step by step:

Dream it.

Purpose: Define the project and align expectations.
We’ll meet to talk through your ideas, space, materials, and goals. This is where we establish the project scope and get a general sense of budget and direction.

Outcome: clarity on what’s possible and how to make it happen.

A laptop displaying a 3D model of a wooden table, a wooden storage box with a logo reading 'SQUARE STATE WOODWORKS', a black pen, and a spiral notebook on a wooden desk.

Design it.

Purpose: Visualize the concept.
We create up to three design concepts presented in a photo-realistic 3D rendered environment, so you can see your piece in context before it’s built. We’ll refine your favorite design with two rounds of revisions.

A $499 design fee applies to this stage and is credited toward your project if we move forward.

Outcome: your design, dialed in and ready to build..

Three modern desks with wood and gray surfaces, with one desk having a black frame and integrated cable management holes.

Plan it.

Purpose: Confirm design and project details.
You’ll receive a final rendering, detailed estimate, and project proposal including fabrication and delivery timelines.

A 50% deposit secures your spot in the production schedule.

Outcome: a clear path forward to fabrication.

Build it.

Purpose: Bring the design to life.
Your piece is crafted in our Denver workshop using a mix of traditional craftsmanship and modern precision.

For built-ins and larger projects, select work may happen on site to ensure a perfect fit.

Outcome: a handcrafted piece built to last.

Install it.

Purpose: Seamless completion.
When the build is finished, we’ll handle delivery and installation with care.
The final fit and finish are verified on site ensuring everything feels intentional, polished, and built-in to your home.

Outcome: a finished piece that feels like it’s always belonged.
